Our Community Hospital/ Bryan Long Term Care
Our Community Hospital is committed to serving the healthcare needs of our community 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We seek to provide care and treat all equitably, with dignity and compassion. We strive to balance needed financial assistance for some patients with the broader fiscal responsibility to remain open and providing care into the future. We have adopted a Financial Assistance and Collections Policy to ensure that patients who have no ability to pay for care are not denied care and are assisted in the process of settling their hospital accounts.
We offer financial assistance for anyone who may have a problem paying their bill. Our assistance includes investigating alternative sources of funding to pay the account. We accept credit cards and routinely offer monthly payment arrangements up to 12 months. We can work with any who cannot pay their account in 12 months on a case-by-case basis.
Our Financial Assistance and Collections Policy provides for review of financial information provided by the patient/guarantor to determine if they meet our guidelines for charity write-off. We use the Federal Poverty Guidelines to write-off up to 100% of charges on a sliding scale based income. We also will consider the assets and obligations of the patient/guarantor as well as catastrophic circumstances in determining their ability to pay. Charity care assistance is available to both the uninsured and underinsured.
Patients who may have a problem paying their hospital bill are encouraged to call a financial counselor at 252-826-4144 to set up payments arrangements or apply for charity care.
