-Ground breaks on the Wellness / Outpatient Therapy Center
-Mammography services begin in Scotland Neck
7/23/07 - OCH receives an Emergency Response and Recovery Grant to install a new control station and radio in the Emergency Room. Installation of the new station will allow staff and physcians the ability to monitor pandemic outbreaks and alerts throughout the state of North Carolina.
6/1/07 - Our Community Hospital goes live with the first phase of our Electronic Medical Record. Lab, Radiology and Pharmacy orders are processed real-time with results being sent immediately upon completion to the practitioner.
5/21/07 - OCH goes "wireless" by upgrading our computer infrastructure to accommodate mobile PC's. This will allow nurses and physicians the ability to provide care at the bedside.
4/2/07 - OCH begins outpatient physical, occupational and speech therapy.
2/3/07 - OCH partners with Bertie Memorial Hospital to provide behavioral health services for our patient population.
2006
10/2/06 - Patient Satisfaction rates soar to 90% Excellent/Above Expectations.
7/5/06 - OCH initiates a "fast track" unit within the Emergency Room to decrease patient wait times.
6/15/06 - OCH partners with United Hospice to bring palliative care to Scotland Neck.
5/12/06 - Dr. Steve Garzone begins providing chiropractic and muscle stem therapy services on a bi-weekly basis.
4/1/06 - OCH partners with 15 other Eastern NC hospitals to join the "Reperfusion of Acute Myocardial Infarction in Carolina Emergency Departments (RACE) Project" in an effort to standardize and improve heart attack outcomes.
3/29/06 - OCH recruits orthopedic surgeon Dr. Th Bloem to provide bi-weekly consults for area residents.
2005
11/14/05 - OCH is recognized as a (*****) Five Star Facility by Healthgrades Corp.
10/1/05 - OCH converts to Computerized Radiography. X-ray films are sent digitally to Radiologists in Greenville NC, this technology decreased average turnaround times from 4 days to 1 day.
